Bio
My artistic practice questions the black body in relation to gazes, through multidisciplinary works spanning photography, cinema, installation, and performance.
I was born in Leuven, Belgium, to a Belgian-Dutch mother and a Senegalese father. This bicultural upbringing exposed me to a wide range of customs and perspectives from an early age, prompting ongoing questions about my place within Belgian society.
In 2017, I began my studies in Photography at LUCA School of Arts in Brussels, graduating with high honours in 2022 with my first film, Tukuleur. That same year, Tukuleur was awarded the VAF (Flemish Audiovisual Fund) Wildcard for Filmlab and was featured in the Currents #10 exhibition in Maastricht, supported by Marres and Z33.
In 2023, I was selected for FOMU Antwerp’s annual .Tiff program, which included coaching, a magazine feature, and an exhibition at the museum. That same year, Tukuleur was also included in Contour, the Mechelen biennial.
Between 2023 and 2024, I took part in Poc Poc, a project by The Constant Now, where I contributed to exhibitions and the development of the Poc Poc Manifesto.
At the end of 2024, I was invited by M-Leuven to join their residency program, during which I transformed a previous performance, The Choir of Dissonance, into an audio installation. The residency concluded with a four-month presentation of the work in the museum.
Currently, I am working on a new film produced by Auguste Orts, which is expected to be completed in early 2026.
